Becoming
a Coach
Tell
me about the Intensive Coach Training Program.
Our Intensive
Coach Training Program will give you essential coaching and communication
skills, structure and key processes so that you can start practicing
as a coach immediately.
The content of the program covers two main topics. Firstly, the
coaching skills are front-loaded at the beginning of the program,
enabling you to spend the next 3 months practicing and developing
these competencies whilst you are in training. We also train you
in the key processes (such as goal setting) and the structure
of each coaching session so that you know exactly how to work
with clients.
Our coaching program was designed by a team of experienced trainers
and coaches and is regularly reviewed to maintain the highest
standard of cutting-edge content.
What
are you going to train me in?
There are
3 aspects to the training. Firstly we train you in the processes
of being a coach to a client. Secondly, at the same time, we will
train you in all the qualities of being a great coach - being
insightful, being a great communicator, being coachable, being
confident and other qualities. Finally, we train you in all the
core competencies of coaching as defined by the International
Coach Federation.
How
much does the Intensive Coach Training Program cost?
The standard
price for the Intensive Coach Training Program in Australia is
AUD$3,990, in the UK is £2,585 and in the USA is US$3,695 while
in NZ prices are NZ$3,990
There are
also Early Bird discounts available and we can help you with financing
options should you prefer to stagger your payments.
Do
I have to pay anything after the training?
Not unless
you would like to become certified with Results. Certification
includes a small fee for your assessment, the cost of your professional
indemnity insurance and a coaching series with a Results Certified
Coach.
However, to gain certification you also need to be coaching at
least 2 clients at a minimum rate - that means you will have an
income from your coaching that will help you.
How
long is the Intensive Coach Training Program?
Both the
face-to-face and Remote Intensive Coach Training Programs are
part-time and run over a period of 12 weeks. This gives you the
flexibility to fit it into your life, and at the same time allows
you to integrate what you are learning so that you can get the
most from the program.
How
does the remote program work?
We run remote
programs in each major region: Australasia, USA and Europe. Imagine
that you are sitting in the comfort of your own living room. Twice
a week for a period of twelve weeks you will dial into a teleconference
bridge along with your classmates. Each csession lasts one hour.
You will be supplied with all printed materials prior to the program
starting and with all of our programs will be required to work
with them each week.
The remote
training program is an extremely powerful, focused and time-efficient
way of training. The feedback from our remote students is extremely
positive (if not a litte surprised at just how effective it is!),
so if this form of training interests you, please contact us for
more information.
How
many people do you accept onto the program?
We accept
a maximum of 24 people onto each program, and provide 3 trainers
to meet the International Coach Federation's trainer-to-student
ratio of 1:8.

Do
I need to hire a coach immediately?
If you want
to be certified with Results and join our agency, you'll need
to be coached for 12 weeks by a Results certified coach. Whether
you decide to undertake a coaching series before, during or after
the ICT Program is entirely up to you.
Obviously signing up for a coaching series either before or at
the start of the ICT will give you the first-hand experience of
being coached, which will strengthen both your confidence and
your new coaching skills. It is also likely to impact the success
in building your coaching business.
However, not everyone can afford it up-front and it is therefore
not a pre-requisiste. What works best for you?
What
is a Trial Session?
A trial session
will give you the opportunity to spend 1.5 hours with a Results
coach creating three inspiring goals that would make a huge difference
to the effectiveness and satisfaction of both your personal and
professional life. Your coach will also discuss any questions
you have about coaching and how it works.
The trial
session is free if you do not wish to continue with a full coaching
series.
After creating
the goals, the client will then choose whether to take on a 12
week coaching series or not. There is no obligation to do so.
This is an excellent marketing tool, providing clients with an
easy opportunity to experience coaching before they buy.
Do
I need special qualifications?
No you do
not need special qualifications, although we are looking for people
who have evidence of strong interpersonal and communication skills.
We train you in everything you need to become a great coach, and
provide a wide range of advanced programs and an annual conference
to strengthen and develop your coaching competencies further.
Is
there a certification program?
Yes, there
are five levels of certification. To reach Level One you need
to meet specific criteria. Measures include having worked with
2 of your own clients using the Results model, passing a mock
exam with one of our assessors, having your own insurance, completing
a coaching series with a Results certified coach and being effective
in your own life.
What
other opportunities are there?
There are
many opportunities to perform other roles at Results Coaching
Systems. Once certified as a Level One coach, you can apply to
become a Trainer, Assessor, Mentor coach, Information Evening
Leader or Regional Co-ordinator. Each of these roles has different
remuneration and benefits attached.
I
have a full-time job, how should I start coaching?
The majority
of coaches work part-time alongside other careers or part-time
businesses they are in. Coaching is a very easy business to start
and you can coach part-time with only one client. Begin by coaching
alongside your current job or business. Put aside one or two evenings
per week to start your coaching business and take it from there.
Who
are the International Coach Federation?
The International
Coaching Federation (ICF) regulates the standards of the coaching
profession worldwide. Results Coaching Systems meets or beats
all ICF training standards.
