The
Life Coach
Ever
thought of paying someone to be your manager, best friend and
mentor? For an hourly rate, Lisa Rock of Results Coaching Systems
gives advice, encouragement and feedback on relationships, business,
spiritual growth and fitness. "People want to be energised
about their lives. A coach enables them to get where they want
to go," she says.
Why
is this a hot industry?
Four
years ago, no-one had heard of life coaches. Now you find them
talked about in magazines, at dinner parties and in the HR departments
of major corporations. "People are recognising that there
are pockets of advice that make your life happier and more successful,"
says Rock. "They are willing to pay for the help they need."
Have
you got what it takes?
A
high degree of confidence is essential, you must be able to convincingly
give advice. You must be articulate, insightful and creative.
The relationship is highly confidential, so you need integrity
and empathy. The amount you earn depends on how many hours you
work, the number of clients you build up and your skills. You
could earn $10, 000 to $100 000.
